Ryan Zinna. A beloved friend, teacher, father, son, and husband. You will never be forgotten.
He was my art teacher. 29 going on 30... why'd he have to go? He had a wife and a one-year-old child... He was working on his Art Master's Thesis... (I think.)
It started 6th period. I had Mr. Zinna 2nd period that day. He was fine! He was joking around, laughing.
6th period. I'm going back to the band room after getting lunch to write an extension to a solo in Jazz Band. All I see are teachers running. I have no clue what's going on, and they wouldn't tell me.
8th period. Tech. Mr. Sheehan spills the beans telling us Mr. Zinna collapsed in his room. "I hope he's okay..." I thought.
5:00. I called my friend to see if she caught One Piece. (She's NEVER heard Sanji's voice.) She said no, and then she said, "Have you heard about Mr. Zinna?"
I said, "Yeah, he collapsed."
And then she said, "No... he died."
Silence for a moment. I couldn't believe it. The seriousness/sadness in her voice proved that is was real...
Mr. Zinna was honored at school the next day, Friday. Everybody was crying (Well, not everybody, but you know.) and the mood in school was plain depressing.
Sunday (Today.) We arrived at the line around 2:20 for his wake.
We got in the home at 3:50. We stood another half hour in line, and we finally got to see him.
R.I.P. Mr. Zinna... one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. You will be missed.
(I know some people have heard this, but it's too hard to not talk about it.)
